Matthew 19:23-24 “in a snailshell”
Tuesday of the Twentieth Week in Ordinary Time
©️2021 Gloria M. Chang
Then Jesus said to his disciples, “Amen, I say to you, it will be hard for one who is rich to enter the kingdom of heaven. Again I say to you, it is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for one who is rich to enter the kingdom of God.”
Matthew 19:23-24
It’s easier for a camel to pass through a needle’s eye
Than for the rich to detach from stockpiles and supply.
Traditional Chinese Translation
《駱駝穿鍼眼》
駱駝穿過針的眼,
比財主和他的財富分離還容易呢!

How we cling to our “stockpiles and supplies!”
Pantry shelves filled,
Reduces shopping trips.
Bulk buying reduces costs,
Allows larger tithes,
More time for service.
What counts the most?
Store heart-filled love,
Share bread and tears.
How can I try harder,
To give from my larder?
larder (noun) · larders (plural noun)
a room or large cupboard for storing food.
Origin
Middle English (denoting a store of meat): from Anglo-Norman French larder, from medieval Latin lardarium,
from laridum (see lard).
May Jesus bless you for your ardor
In loving others from your larder!
