Happy Saint Patrick’s Day!
Dear GMC, thank you for your reflection. It helps me become and be a child of God. Happy Saint Patrick’s day to you!
A blessed St. Patrick’s Day to you, fdan!
Dear Gloria, thank you for your reflections which help us find and come to know God at every stage of “Be”ing. May you be blessed and may you be happy always!!
“I have a creator who knew all things, even before they were made—even me, his poor little child.”
-St. Patrick ☘️
Watching the St. Patrick’s Day parade down 5th Avenue (on video), I saw a multitude of smiles on marchers and heard wonderful music played by marching bands. In contrast, I think of all the ways the Irish suffered in their own land due to the famine and the discrimination against them as immigrants here. Thank God for the generations who endured migrating from Ireland. We are blessed with such a great cloud of witnesses for Christ who have gone before us. That includes my parents, my great grandparents and even my great-great grandparents. Long ago roots on my family tree!

Today I received a message about St. Patrick:
“In the book the Cry of the Deer, David Adam discusses how Patrick said that “The Spirit seethed in me’ which is a lovely way of expressing his enthusiasm, his love for life. Enthusiasm comes from two Greek words meaning ‘in God’. There is no doubt that Patrick’s life was in God and God in him”. Patrick knew that he could arise today in the strong name of the Trinity with confidence that Christ could pilot him. I think that arises from his profound awareness of the Presence of God surrounding him, within him, within all whom he met, EVERYWHERE. And that is something I’m sure we all desire.”

There and here; before and after; left and right; within and around. God’s sustaining presence is gifted to me. Patrick affirms my belief!
Thank you for your profound reflection and quote from Silentium Contemplative Community. The etymology of “enthusiasm” illustrates St. Patrick’s life vividly. May you and your community bubble with joy “in God”!
