But the Pharisees went out and took counsel against him to put him to death.
When Jesus realized this, he withdrew from that place. Many people followed him, and he cured them all, but he warned them not to make him known. This was to fulfill what had been spoken through Isaiah the prophet:
“Behold, my servant whom I have chosen,
Matthew 12:14-21
my beloved in whom I delight;
I shall place my spirit upon him,
and he will proclaim justice to the Gentiles.
He will not contend or cry out,
nor will anyone hear his voice in the streets.
A bruised reed he will not break,
a smoldering wick he will not quench,
until he brings justice to victory.
And in his name the Gentiles will hope.”
Silent Strength
In Matthew 12:14-21, Jesus emerges as the Lion-Hearted Lamb, God’s chosen servant who fulfills Isaiah’s prophecy. Despite plots to destroy him, he responds with gentle mercy, healing all who follow and never breaking a bruised reed or quenching a smoldering wick. His quiet strength proclaims justice and hope to all nations, revealing a Messiah who is both meek and mighty, bringing victory through compassion.
As men plotted to crush Christ like wheat,
The Lion-Hearted Lamb did not bleat.
Traditional Chinese Translation
《獅子心的羔羊》
當人們密謀碾碎基督像碾麥子一樣,
獅子心的羔羊並沒有咩咩叫。

Meek yet mightily merciful,
Victorious through compassion,
Jesus shows the way,
I am forever grateful.
The Word of the Lamb roars like a Lion,
Meek yet mighty, the herald of Zion.
