“All Souls’ Day Benedictus” (16 panels)
©️2020 by Gloria M. Chang
The Benedictus antiphon, “I am the Resurrection, I am the Life; to believe in me means life, in spite of death, and all who believe and live in me shall never die,” is taken from the Liturgy of the Hours for All Souls’ Day. In monastic chant, the whole choir sings the antiphon, followed by choir to choir singing of the Canticle of Zechariah found in Luke 1:68-79 (Benedictus). At the end of the Benedictus, the antiphon is repeated by the whole choir.
