Dear GMC, thank you for your reflection. It reminds me of this Franciscan prayer, which is said while breathing: “Great (inhale) Shepherd (exhale), please (inhale) find (exhale) me (inhale), Amen (exhale).”
How does Jesus know us?
Not by number
But by name;
Not by success,
Nor monetary gain.
Not by job skills,
Nor by fashion fads.
Our Good Shepherd
Cares for us,
Heals our ills.
As a true friend,
He calls out
By our names,
Not in harsh tones,
But in love.
Hearing our moans,
Lifting us high,
Shouldering our weight,
On the way
To green pasture gate.
