After he left the synagogue, he entered the house of Simon. Simon’s mother-in-law was afflicted with a severe fever, and they interceded with him about her. He stood over her, rebuked the fever, and it left her. She got up immediately and waited on them.
Luke 4:38-39
Simon’s mother-in-law was down with a fever.
Cured by the Word, she sprang up as housekeeper.
Dear GMC, Thank you for bringing such a smile to my heart. Your reflection reminds me of my grandmother who used to care for my sisters and me as children. She was hardly ever sick when we were growing up, but when she was, she took to the bed (rosary in hand) and once she was better, off she was again cooking and cleaning for the family. Rest in peace, Memère! We miss you still.
God bless Memère! She raised wonderful granddaughters! May she rest in peace.
Thank you, Gloria! I still remember Memère. Good luck with the “Donate” addition to your blog. May your blog community continue to bring the love and now the support you need. I look forward, God willing, to more new content from you. With my love and support, fdan (Fabienne)
