Leviticus 19:18
You shall love your neighbor as yourself. I am the Lord.
Do to others what you want them to do to you.
This is the Law and the Prophets.

因為這就是律法和先知的道理。
再見了!

Dear GMC, thank you for your reflection on the Golden Rule. It inspired me to learn more and I discovered that this basic principle can be found in every major religion and philosophy. I also learned that the core of the Golden Rule is a moral obligation to treat others ethically for their sake, not ours, even if it’s better than the way they treat us. Thank you for the way your reflection made me eager to learn, like a child again.
Thank you for your reflection, fdan! You have touched upon the objectivity of the Golden Rule, and the freedom from self that underlies it. There’s a lot to ponder.
