The one who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will supply and multiply your seed and increase the harvest of your righteousness.2 Corinthians 9:10
A Harvest of Thanks
The abundant life of grace mirrors the magnanimous fecundity of our Creator. In the beginning, God brought light and life into being with a word (Genesis 1). Fruit trees and seed-bearing plants of every kind sprouted toward the new morning sky. Rain, snow, and the fertility cycles of the earth obey the word of the Lord, “giving seed to the one who sows and bread to the one who eats.”
Yet just as from the heavensIsaiah 55:10-11
the rain and snow come down
And do not return there
till they have watered the earth,
making it fertile and fruitful,
Giving seed to the one who sows
and bread to the one who eats,
So shall my word be
that goes forth from my mouth;
It shall not return to me empty,
but shall do what pleases me,
achieving the end for which I sent it.
The Divine Sower cannot be outdone in generosity. May our heavenly Father increase the “harvest” of our righteousness.
