Lent, Day 9

“Lent, Day 9”
Psalm 130:6-7 from the Responsorial Psalm
Friday of the First Week of Lent
©️2021 by Gloria M. Chang

“The Lord is my portion,” says my soul, “therefore I will hope in him.”

Lamentations 3:24 (RSV)

My soul waits for the Lord
more than sentinels wait for the dawn.
Let Israel wait for the Lord.

  1. Waiting demands patience which I lack.
I’d like to see results quickly.
So I can move on, not look back.
How long is God’s patience with me!
Lord, help me to wait lovingly.

    1. Be patient, therefore, brothers, until the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, being patient with it until it receives the early and the late rains.

      James 5:7
