And Jesus led his disciples out as far as Bethany, and lifting up his hands he blessed them. While he blessed them, he parted from them and was carried up into heaven.

As they were looking on, he was lifted up,
and a cloud took him from their sight.

他們正看的時候，他就被取上升，
有一朶雲彩把他接去，便看不見他了。
Lifted up out of sight.
Why would Jesus go away?
He left his dear friends,
Lost in mystery on Ascension Day.
His going hastened the coming
Of Holy Spirit might.
Those timid witnesses
Were transformed
By power from above.
Holy Spirit infused their hearts
Filling them with love.
Come Holy Spirit,
Fill the hearts of your faithful,
Enkindle in them
The fire of your love.
