“Good then is love, having wings of burning fire, that flies through the breasts and hearts of the saints… Therefore the wings of fire are the flames of the divine Scripture.”

St. Ambrose, Isaac, or the Soul 8.77

Were not our hearts burning within us
while he spoke to us on the way
and opened the Scriptures to us?

Traditional Chinese Translation

《我們的心豈不是火熱的嗎?》
我們的心豈不是火熱的嗎?
在路上,他和我們說話,給我們講解聖經的時候。

  1. What I love about this scripture is something I only realized in recent years. Jesus disappears after they recognize Him in the breaking of the bread…they are left with the bread, His body, the first Eucharist in which believers can no longer see Him present except in the transubstantiated bread and wine. 1. Christ beside me,
      Christ before me,
      Christ behind me,
      King of my heart;
      Christ within me,
      Christ below me,
      Christ above me
      never to part.

      St. Patrick
