Were not our hearts burning within us
while he spoke to us on the way
and opened the Scriptures to us?
May the Holy Spirit put our hearts on fire with God’s love!
What I love about this scripture is something I only realized in recent years. Jesus disappears after they recognize Him in the breaking of the bread…they are left with the bread, His body, the first Eucharist in which believers can no longer see Him present except in the transubstantiated bread and wine. Perfect 🥖+🍷=✝️
